Bineric started from a simple question: how should AI be built for Europe?
The company was founded around the idea that organizations in Europe should be able to adopt advanced AI without losing control over privacy, deployment choices or language quality.
That meant building with Norwegian and European realities in mind from the start: stricter expectations around trust, stronger interest in local hosting, and a practical need for systems that work in real institutions and businesses.
Bineric's roots are not just technical. They are geographic, operational and cultural: Oslo-based, Norway-shaped, and designed for organizations that want AI to fit their environment rather than the other way around.

Umair brings a broad cross-functional background spanning software engineering, architecture, data science, and executive leadership. Over the course of his career, he has held roles including programmer, architect, Head of Data Science, CTO, CDO, and CAIO, most recently serving as Director of AI and Quantum Computing at Ruter AS and TET Digital AS in Norway.
He is known for building Ruter’s AI unit from the ground up, leading work across more than 100 AI use cases, with roughly 80% reaching production, and helping establish Norway’s leading practical quantum computing environment. In recognition of this work, he was twice nominated for “Public Transport Enthusiast of the Year,” was included in the Nordic 100 in Data, Analytics & AI, and is a recipient of the Innovation Award from the Research Council of Norway. He is also a well-known figure in the Nordic AI community and serves as an Assistant Professor at OsloMet, where he teaches AI.
Hira is based in Ghent, Belgium, and brings a strong commercial and operational background to Bineric. She holds an MBA from INSEAD in France and has a Chartered Accountancy background, with experience spanning finance, strategy, and senior management.
Before co-founding Bineric, she held senior management roles and worked at organizations including PwC and Pepsi, bringing cross-functional leadership experience across business, operations, and growth.
